After selecting Crow Canyon Cascaded Lookup from the list of column options, the screen will present several options for configuration. The area highlighted in red shows the specific settings for this column type.

 

 

Get Information from this site - Crow Canyon Cascaded Lookup allows for cross-site list lookups. The first drop down defines from which site the column should look for information.

 

Get Information from - This drop down defines from which list to read information

 

In this column - This drop down defines the value that will show in the current list. This can be any column which exists on the list that is being looked up; exceptions are calculated columns and associated columns.

 

Link to parent column - If there are multiple Cascaded Lookup columns within the list, use this check box to make this one the child list to the parent lookup. When checked, the options available will be any lookup column (standard SharePoint or Crow Canyon Cascaded), which refers to a list that has a look up to the list referred to in this column's settings.

 

Show all values when parent is empty - Will show all unfiltered values if there is no selection in the parent column

 

Allow Multiple Values - Use this option to allow for selection of multiple values. Allow multiple values does not support filtering for either a parent or child column. This is used for Cross-site Lookups, not the cascading/filtered lists function.

 

When Allow Multiple Values is checked, View and SortByView appear:

 

View - Select a predefined view from the lookup list, which will filter options available in the lookup. Note that a view could filter out a related item that has already been selected. In that case, when the parent item is in Edit mode, it will not show that related item, which could give the mistaken impression that the related item is no longer associated with the parent item, when it actually is still there.

         

 Sort By View - Will sort the options based on the view selected
